Red Lake Little Lady Warriors Basketball 2011

Coach
The Red Lake Little Lady Warrior’s Basketball team is elementary aged girls that
range from 2nd through 6th grade. The Red Lake Little Lady Warriors Basketball
Program exercises the basic fundamentals in basketball, sportsmanship and
teamwork. The team has been practicing since January 2011.
On February 7, 2011 the Red Lake Little Lady Warriors played Blackduck’s 6th
grade and under team at Blackduck. The Little Lady Warriors, 21 to 17 over
Blackduck in overtime. The girls displayed good sportsmanship, teamwork and
defense. On February 26, 2011 the Lil Lady Warriors traveled to Deer River to
participate in a 5th grade girls basketball tournament where we took home 3rd
place. The girls also displayed good sportsmanship, teamwork and defense
during the tournament. Miigwetch to all the Parents for being involved.
The Red Lake Little Lady Warrior’s recently held the end of the season banquet at
the Red Lake Elementary Gym. The basketball players enjoyed cake and root
beer floats. The Little Lady Warriors each received a basketball award and a
special gift for participating in the program. We will be practicing Girls
Fastpitch/Softball throughout the spring and summer months.
The Red Lake Little Lady Warriors would like to take this time to recognize and
show their appreciation to the following: All the parents and families who got the
girls to and from practice and games; Nolan Desjarlait Sr., Coach from the Red
Lake Schools; Red Lake School Board and Superintendent Brent Gish; Donald
Desjarlait and Staff at Red Lake Foods Store; Red Lake Nation Tribal Council and
the Red Lake Nation Donation Committee.
