Adrian “Adge” Sayers, Sr., 36 of Red Lake, MN died Monday, November 29, 2010
at Red Lake Hospital in Red Lake after courageously battling brain cancer that
was diagnosed May 28, 2009.
Traditional Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, December 3, 2010 at the
Little Rock Center in Red Lake, MN. A wake will begin Wednesday at the Little
Rock Center and go until the time of service on Friday. Interment will be at the Tom
and Theresa Lussier residence per his request. The Cease Family Funeral Home
assisted the family with arrangements. The family requests NO FLOWERS.
Adrian was born July 12, 1974 in Minneapolis, MN. He had lived most of his life in
Minneapolis, until meeting his wife in 1997 and made Red Lake his home. He held
various jobs throughout that time, but his main job and joy was being a stay-at-
home Dad taking care of his children. He enjoyed cooking for them, playing with
them, taking funny pictures and just enjoyed being able to be with them. He loved
joy riding in his car and listening to all types of music. Adrian will be remembered
for his great sense of humor, great smile, and just as all around friendly guy. Adrian
will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Charmaine (Lussier), sons Adrian, Quinton,
Stephan of Red Lake and son Michael Sayers of Minneapolis; daughters Sydney
and Nadonis of Red Lake; brothers Dale Sayers of St. Paul and Lester VanWert
of Bemidji; sisters Esther Sayers of Red Lake, Linda (McKinley) and Lori Sayers
of Redby, father and mother-in-law Tom and Theresa Lussier who he fondly
considered Dad and Mom; special niece, his “little lady”, Aaliyah Lussier; many
nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Charlene (Jason) Siddens; brother-in-law Tom
“Jay” Lussier of Red Lake; many cousins he considered his brothers Daryl (Jenna)
Barrett, Tyrone Barrett, Lee Martin; biological father Don Cuny, half brothers and
sisters Sandra, Otto, James and Dawn Cuny and 7 other half siblings.
He was preceded in death by his mother Alvina Sayers, dad Lester VanWert,
brother Quinton Sayers, grandmother Esther J. Sayers, aunts and uncles Marlene
Barrett, Lee Sayers, John Lussier, Noreen Varney, Gus Whitefeather and Kim
Barrett.
Honorary Casketbearers will be Myron Wakonabo, Charlene Siddens, Lisa
Megenuph, Lori Megenuph, Macy Day, Jack Neadeau, Tom Lussier,Sr., Sonny
Johnson, Missy Donnell, Esther Sayers, Misty Firecloud, Katie Arnold, William
“Bill” Prickett, Mylen Brummond, Scott LaRock, Vinnie Charette and all Adrian’s
nieces and nephews.
Active Casketbearers will be Shawn Smith, Merle Wakonabo, Daryl Barrett, Lee
Martin, Ken Lussier, Loren Barrett, Joel Potter, Tyrone Barrett with alternates Phil
Lussier and Craig Stevens.
