Beverly Ann Allen, 71, of Minneapolis, formerly of Cass Lake, died, Friday,
July 23, 2010, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
A funeral was held Tuesday, July 27, at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in
Cass Lake, with spiritual leader Richard Wright. Burial was held in the Boy
Lake Cemetery/Village Cemetery in Boy Lake, Minn., following the service.
The pallbearers were Brandon Howard, Everett Allen, Daniel Mitchell, Dale
Burnette, Alex Bellanger and Johnathan Whitefeather.
The honorary pallbearers were Brett Thorsen, William Kelly, Guillermo
Zaragoza, Michael Grossehme and George Matthews.
Arrangements were made with the Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker.
She was born March 16, 1939, to Mike and Alice (Cummings) Burnette in
Cass Lake. She enjoyed driving, going to rummage sales and playing bingo
at the casinos. She enjoyed taking care of her house plants and like making
crafts, including key chains. She also loved to make various things to make
money and enjoyed fundraising. She was very good at math and accounting.
She worked her way up from a cashier to a manager, in a very short time, at
the Metrodome. She always took care of her family at their time of need.
She is survived by her special aunt, Helen Cummings of Cass Lake; sons,
Kevin Lange of Lima, Colo. and Everett Allen of Minneapolis; daughters,
Carla of Bemidji, Diane Grooms of St. Paul, Grace Howard of Minneapolis,
Terri Allen of Minneapolis, Kathy Napper of International Falls and Laura Allen
of Minneapolis; brothers, Ronald Burnette of Sugar Point, Willis Burnette of
Cass Lake and Michael Burnette of Marshall, Minn.; sisters, Gladys (Wayne)
Sandland of Minneapolis and Sharon Burnette (Ira Johnson) of Cass Lake
and many grand and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Vivian Burnette and
Charlene Smith; a niece and a great-niece.
