Beverly June Kauppi, 77, of Cass Lake, died Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the
Cass Lake PHS Indian Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at the Pine
Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake, with the Rev. Peter Rosenkvist and the Rev.
Dennis Roy officiating, under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home
of Cass Lake.
She was born Jan. 17, 1933, to William and Rose (Bisson) Roy in Onigum,
Minn. She was raised and educated in Cass Lake. She loved to bake and
play bingo. In her younger years, she refinished antique furniture. She also
loved to garden and can foods. She worked in food service most of her life
and until her death, was employed at the Elderly Nutrition Program in Cass
Lake.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Larry) Glass of Cass Lake; four
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Iva LaDuke of Cass Lake
and Shirley Ann Lillemo of Bemidji; her former husband, Carl Kauppi; cousins;
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathryn Hancock; a
grandson; brothers, Earl, Lloyd, Clifton, Raymond, Douglas and Alfred Roy
and Gary Bjorklund and sisters, Phyllis Erickson and Loretta Clark.
