Brad Simons, 46 year old resident of Onamia , MN passed away on October 8,
2010 at Fairview Hospital at the University of Minnesota . A funeral ceremony will
be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe
Community Center on the Mille Lacs Reservation. Burial will be in the Vineland
Burial Grounds. A visitation will begin at 5 PM on Monday, October 11, 2010 at the
community center. Arrangements entrusted to the Shelley Funeral Chapel of
Onamia.
Brad was born on April 9, 1964 in Brainerd , Minnesota to John Shaugobay and
Sandra Smith. He lived in the metro area most of his life. Brad enjoyed listening to
music, playing video games, and going to sweat lodges. Being with friends and
family was how he liked to spend his time.
Brad is survived by his mother, Sandra Smith from Onamia , MN ; daughter, Sandy
Simons of Cass Lake , MN ; girlfriend, Ann Meyer of Minneapolis , MN ; brother
Jeffery Smith; and many aunts, uncles, relatives and special friend, Marvin Smith.
Preceded in death by his father; grandparents, George & Frances Smith; foster
parents, Harry & Rose Simons; and his uncle, Duane Smith.
