capacities related to art and teaching.  She worked at the Arizona State Museum
where she created an extensive pottery exhibit entitled “Decoding the Secrets of
Southwestern Pottery” and most recently managed the Minnesota Historical
Society Mille Lacs Indian Museum.  Carrie spent time working with our elders
doing their hair and beautifying their environment with her art.  In addition to all of
this, she also sat on several boards and found many hours to volunteer in other
ways within Indian Country.

Carrie is survived by her son Neil Ortiz (Carrie B.) of Boy Lake, MN and her
daughter Clarissa Ortiz of Bemidji, MN, her grandchildren Marissa, Mariah,
