Dennis Allen Garbow Sr., “Chegwewezans,” 67, of Inger, Minn., (Cha-Cha-Bah-
Ning), died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, in Fargo, N.D., surrounded by family and
friends.
The service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Inger Community
Center. Visitation began after 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at the Inger Community
Center. Burial will be in the Inger Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Carroll Funeral Home, Deer River and Bigfork, Minn.
He was born May 25, 1943, to William Joseph Garbow and Lillian Rose
(Bowstring) Garbow in Cass Lake. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked
for various logging companies and the Leech Lake Transportation Department as
a shuttle driver for the casinos. He enjoyed going to powwows and always loved
eating his Chippewa Burgers. He enjoyed going to the Palace Casino and playing
bingo and spending quality time with all his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Jason (Stacey) Robinson Cass Lake; daughter, Carol
Smith Minneapolis; brothers, Ernest (Lucille) Garbow and Francis Garbow, all of
Bowstring, Minn.; three granddaughters; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathryn (Howard) Garbow; son,
Dennis Dean Garbow Jr.; daughter, Carol Ann Garbow; three sisters; two
nephews; and a niece.
