Eliza Jane Jourdain, 95, of the Virginia area, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, in the
Virginia Convalescent Care Center.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Redby
Community Center in Redby. The Bauman-Cron, a Bauman Family Funeral Home,
Virginia, assisted the family with arrangements.

She was born Nov. 2, 1915, to Joseph and Mary Kingbird in White Earth. She
married Baptiste Jourdain. She worked for the U.S. Forest Service, the Village of
Mt. Iron and also taught the Ojibwe language and culture. She was a foster-parent.
She attended the Assembly of God Church in Midway, and she enjoyed ricing,
fishing, and making handcrafts.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Jourdain of Minneapolis and Richard
Jourdain of Virginia; three stepchildren, Mary Gibbs, Lucille Auginash and Patsy
Norquay all of Redby; several grandchildren; step-grandchildren; nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Francis; stepchildren,
Paulineand Elsie; and several step-grandchildren.
