Eliza Katherine Erickson, 55, of Minneapolis, formerly of Cass Lake, died
Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
A wake service will begin at noon Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Minnesota
Chippewa Tribe Building, 1308 E. Franklin Ave., Minneapolis, and continue
until 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14. Wake services will then move to the Veterans
Memorial Building in Cass Lake and begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, and
continue until the 10 a.m. service Tuesday, Feb. 16, with Spiritual leaders
Noel Thompson Jr. and the Rev. George Ross officiating. Burial will be in the
Thompson Cemetery in Cass Lake.
Arrangements are with Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker.
Pallbearers will be Roger Thompson, Lawrence Oakgrove, Mark Thompson,
Daniel Thompson, David Thompson and Justin Thompson.
She was born on April 8, 1954, to Charles and Sylvia (Leith) Thompson in
Cass Lake. She enjoyed watching Law and Order, playing bingo, being with
her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Roger (Jennifer) Thompson, of Grand Rapids,
Minn., Larry Thompson of Minneapolis, Mark Thompson of Red Lake, Danny
Thompson of Minneapolis, David Thompson of Minneapolis and Justin
Thompson of Minneapolis; daughters, Aletha (Tim) Thompson of Red Lake,
Angela Thompson of Minneapolis and Maggie Erickson of Minneapolis;
brothers, Noel Thompson Sr. of Cass Lake, Peter Thompson of Minneapolis,
Charles Thompson of Duluth and Chris Leith of Minneapolis; sisters, Laura
Goodwin of Minneapolis, Marilyn Thompson of Cass Lake, Debra Thompson
of Minneapolis and Susan Oquist of Minneapolis, 18 grandchildren and other
relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an uncle; sister, Cheryl; and
children, Trudy and Anthony.
