Glendon Norton Tverstol, age 54, of Bemidji, Minn. passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji, Minn. after a short battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji. Arrangements are with the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bemidji.
Glen Norton Tverstol was born December 9, 1955 in Red lake, Minn. to Waldon and Genevieve (Gurneau) Tverstol. He was raised in Bemidji where he attended area schools. He was in the U.S. Army 3 years and was honorably discharged. He worked various jobs throughout his life until medical disabilities forced him to retire. He married Renita Mutka and welcomed a stepson, Dillon Mutka, into his life. Together they had a daughter Amber in 1991. He was an amazing artist and enjoyed many pastimes. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching all the Minnesota Teams. He enjoyed spending time with his nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces and family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Amber Tverstol; her mother, Renita; sisters, Lynn( Lowell) Koebernick of Morris, Minn., Patti Tverstol of Bemidji, Minn.; brothers, Wally and Harold Tverstol both of Bemidji, Minn.; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; an aunt and uncle; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Dillon Mutka; sisters, Dorothy, Laureen and Barbara and a brother, Lauren.
A special thank you to all the caring staff at Havenwood who took such great care of Glen during his illness. Glen and his family sincerely appreciate everything they did for him.
