Julius B. Oakgrove, 73, formerly of Red Lake, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at
Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Texas, where he resided for several years.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at St. Antipas in Redby with
the Rev. George Ross officiating. A memorial wake service will be at 5 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Redby Community Center. Burial will be in Redby.

He was born May 23, 1937, to John Brown and Sarah (Boye) Oakgrove in Red
Lake. He attended schools in Red Lake, graduating from Red Lake High School.
He excelled in basketball, football and baseball. He joined the U.S. Navy and
completed four years of military service. He retired from federal service (U.S. BIA)
after 31 years. He worked at several area offices, including New Town, N.D.,
Minneapolis, Anchorage, Alaska, and Red Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of Harlingen; brother, James (Adelma)
Oakgrove of Redby; sister, Mardelle (Arthur) Carlson of Minneapolis; and nieces
and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Isadore and Robert
Oakgrove.

Julius will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
