Kathleen “Kathy” Margaret Hurd, 44, of Cass Lake, died in her sleep
Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at her home.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Veteran’s Memorial
Building in Cass Lake with Spiritual leaders the Rev. John Rock and Lay
Leader Shannon Avery. A wake will begin at 4:00 p.m. today, Feb. 9, at the
Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake and will continue until the time of
the service. Burial will be held in the Prince of Peace Cemetery in Cass Lake.
Pallbearers for Kathy will be Darrell Ryan, Terrence Morris, Robert Hurd Jr.,
Samuel Morris, Brandon Murray, Alex Whitefeather Sr. and Archie LaRose.
Arrangements were made with Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker.
She was born Oct. 28, 1965, to Robert Sr. and Bernice (Morris) Hurd in
Bemidji. She was a personal care attendant for her mother, Bernice, through
the Circle of Life. She loved to fish, play bingo, attend pow-wows and spend
time with her family, especially her children, foster children and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Shannon White of Cass Lake; sons, Lucas
(Carissa) White of Cloquet, Minn., Eugene Lohnes and William Lohnes both
of Cass Lake; daughters, Patricia (Brandon) Hurd and Taydria White, both of
Cass Lake; brothers, Darrell Ryan, Robert Budreau, Terrence (Julie) Morris,
Louis Fisher, Robert Hurd Jr. all of Cass Lake and Samuel Morris of
Minneapolis; sisters, Cindy (Vern) Hurd, Debbie Jones and Rhonda (Tim)
Hurd all of Cass Lake, a special niece, Angie, other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; sister, Patricia Morgan; brothers,
Jake Hurd, Sr. and Lowell Fisher; an aunt and uncle.
