Jane “Lillian” Greene, 85, of Red Lake, formerly of Redby, MN, whose Indian name
was Zoongnodin which means “Strong Wind”, died Monday, November 22, 2010
at the North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji, Minnesota.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 26, 2010 at St. Antipas
Episcopal Church in Redby with the Rev. Fr. George Ross officiating.  A wake will
begin at noon on Wednesday, November 24 at the Redby Community Center in
Redby and will continue until the time of services on Friday.  Burial will be in the St.
Antipas Episcopal Cemetery in Redby.  Cease Family Funeral Home of
Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.

Active Pallbearers will be Virgil Brown, Tony Greene, Shane May, Jack Johnson,
Oliver Johnson, Jr., and Owen Johnson, Sr.  Alternates will be Nicholas Brown and
Brandon Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of the Jourdain Perpich Extended Care
Facility and Jodi May.

Lillian was born January 10, 1925 into the Bear Clan in Red Lake, MN, the
daughter of Frank Howard and Sadie Greeley.  She attended school in Redby and
lived in Redby most all her life until she moved into the Jourdain Perpich Extended
Care Facility in Red Lake for the last number of years.  She enjoyed crossword
puzzles, Nickel Bingo, and attending Pow-Wows.  She especially enjoyed
spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Mary Ann (Clarence) Brown, Irene Greene,
and Delphine (Richard) Gibbs, all of Redby, MN; a son, Wallace Greene, Jr. of
Redby; a brother, Joseph Howard of Redby; 17 grandchildren; 31 great
grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Greene, Sr.; her parents; a
brother, Ernest Howard; 3 sisters, Grace Howard, Susan Howard, and Sophie
Weise; a granddaughter, Melodie Brown; and 3 great grandchildren, Cameron
Waybenais, Cynthia Brown, and Tashia Greene.
