Marvin Raymond Watkins, 62, of Cass Lake, M.N., died Wednesday, Dec. 15,
2010, at the Cass Lake IHS Hospital in Cass Lake.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Veteran’s Memorial
Building in Cass Lake with spiritual leader Steve Jackson. A wake will begin
Sunday at noon at the Veter-an’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake and will
continue until the time of service. Burial will be at the Chippewa Bible Cemetery at
Oak Point near Cass Lake, M.N. under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral
Home.

Pallbearers will be Christo-pher Ellis, Richard Ellis, Mario “Maudi” Rodreguez,
Steve White, Ken Johnson and George Wind, Sr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Damian Watkins, Kaylihanna Watkins, Dantell
Watkins, Levi Shitz, Malakai Wilson and Jesslynn Watkins.

He was born March 22, 1948 in Cass Lake, the son of Marvin Riggles and
Albertina Watkins. He was adopted by Reinhold and Erma Eichberg. He was
raised and educated in Cass Lake, graduating from high school there. He served
in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969 in Vietnam. He served his country with great
pride. He worked many years as a security guard in Cass Lake. He loved
archaeology and was especially proud of his years of work as an archaeologist in
Cass Lake. He was very compassionate about his family. He found great joy in
entertaining his grandchildren. He loved hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding and
anything outdoors. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his partner- Mary Wind of Cass Lake; 2 sons, Ryan (Richell
Thayer) Watkins of Bemidji, Scott Eichberg of Salem, Oregon; daughter, Bobbi Jo
(Sean Shitz) Graham of Bemidji; 12 grandchildren; adopted mother, Erma
Eichberg of Cass Lake; 3 sisters, Sally (Pete) DeGracia of Vacaville, C.A.,
Bonnie (Richard) Sisson of Cass Lake, Beverly (Ralph) Hanson of Hemingford,
Nebraska; 5 brothers, Curtis Eichberg of La Luz, N. M., Robert Eichberg of
Cohassett, M.N., William Riggles of Saratoga, N.Y., Robbie and Lonnie Watkins;
Numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, adopted father; granddaughter,
Jordan Graham; and sister, Sara Eichberg.
