Miles “Cub” William May, 58, of Red Lake died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at
Red Lake PHS Indian Hospital.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the St. Mary’s
Mission Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN with Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating. A
wake will begin on Sunday November 28, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Little Rock
Center and continue until the time of the services. Interment will be at the St. Mary’s
Mission Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake under the direction of the Cease Family
Funeral Home of Bemidji.
Pallbearers will be Keith May, Edward May, Tyler May, Mario May-Gil-Garcia,
Charles May, Arnold May, Roy Anderson, Leland Whitefeather. Honorary
Pallbearers will be Rita Wiese, Earlene May, Shirley Anderson, Anton Thompson,
Alfredo Gil-Garcia, Ronald Granroos, and all of his Co-workers of the
modernization crew at the Red Lake Housing Authority.
Cub was born to Joseph May, Sr. and Martha May in Red Lake, MN on
September 25, 1952. He was also raised and educated In Red Lake. He
graduated from Red Lake High School in 1970. In his younger days he was a
trapper, hunter, logger, and commercial fisherman. He graduated from Northwest
Technical College in 1999 and received a diploma for Construction Electrician. He
then was employed at the Red Lake Housing Authority from 2000 – 2010. Cub
enjoyed spending his time with his family especially his niece Leah. He also
enjoyed spending time at the casino.
He is survived by his sisters Brenda May of Red Lake, Marlene Thompson of Red
Lake, and Paula May-Gil-Garcia of Minneapolis. Brothers Joseph May, Jr. and
Robert May, Sr. both of Red Lake; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Grandparents Antoine and Cora May,
James Sr. and Susan Kelly; brothers Arnold, Charles, and Reginald May.
