Richard Joseph Cloud, 68, of Bemidji, whose Indian name was Ajijake (Crane) of
the MaKwa clan, died on Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Sanford Hospital in
Fargo, North Dakota.

Traditional Indian services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30,
2010 at the Ponemah Community Center. Spiritual Leader Steve Jackson will be
officiating. A wake will begin Tuesday, December 28, 2010 Arrangements were
with Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck.

Active pallbearers will be Murphy Thomas III, Wayne Johnson, Jr., Bobby Jo
Kingbird, Sheldon Bailey, George Bailey and Shane Branchaud. Honorary
pallbearers will be Al Branchaud, Jr., Russell Cloud, Sr., Rudy Johnson, Lenard
Cloud, Vernon Hawk, Russell Poter, Alfred Thomas, Jr., Clifford Hardy, Cam Hardy
and Tom Hardy.

He was born August 21, 1942 in Red Lake. He attended schools in Red Lake then
graduated from Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis and New Mexico. He moved
back to Red Lake and fished and worked at the ambulance service and was a
jack of all trades. He was a talented mechanic and with electric appliances. He
enjoyed fishing, going to the casino to play Keno and spending time with his family
and friends.

He is survived by his companion, Deanie Bailey, Sheldon Bailey (Corinne), Suki
Bailey (Allen), all of Red Lake; Rosalyn, Phillys, Linda, Mary and Gilbert, all of
Canada; Frances, Janet, Barb and Murphy Jr., all of Ponemah, 20 grandchildren, 9
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He is preceded in death by a son, Vincent “Mac” Bailey; his parents, Katherine
and Murphy Thomas, Sr.; his biological father, Jim Kelly and brothers, Ronald M.
Cloud, Robert Aaron Thomas, Clarence, Phillip and Doug Kelly and a sister, Janet
Kelly.
