Rosella “Rosie” Beaulieu, 74, of Bagley, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, in Bagley.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the Rice Lake Community
Center in Bagley, with the Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Visitation will be held at 5 p.
m. Monday, Nov. 1, at the community center and will continue until the time of the
funeral. Burial will be in Rice Lake Community Cemetery. Arrangements were
entrusted to Anderson-Mattson Funeral Home in Mahnomen.

Pallbearers will be Glenn “Jeb” Bunker, Thomas Busse Sr., Andrew Beaulieu,
Jordan Pergl, Alex Beaulieu, Aaron Bellanger, Ben Beaulieu and Ross Beaulieu.
Alternate pallbearers will be Darrin Busse and Jonathan Hoell.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was born on April 24, 1936, to Lawrence and Mildred (Hill) Stevens, in White
Earth. She grew up in Rice Lake Village, Minn., and as a young woman she
attended school in Pipestone, Minn. After school she moved back to Rice Lake
Village. In 1954, she married Clarence Beaulieu and they had 12 children. She
began her career as a teacher’s aide at Bagley School and then worked as a
Community Health Representative. In the late 1970s, she received her training as
an EMT and worked for the White Earth Rescue Service in Naytahwaush. During
that time, she served as Summer Youth Supervisor and worked as a teacher with
the Adult Basic Education Program. Later in her life, she cooked for the Elder
Nutrition Program and for the Reservation Tribal Council. In 1998, she worked as
the receptionist with the Reservation Tribal Council where she worked until her
retirement in 2008. When her husband died in 2007, she continued to live at home
in Rice Lake Village. She was an adoptive mother to several children.

She enjoyed playing Keno and Bingo at the casino, Boggle, Scrabble, Yahtzee,
Whist and any other card game with family and friends. She enjoyed playing
softball and played with the Old Timers until she was 60 years old. She traveled to
softball tournaments and was an avid fan. She enjoyed having fun and had a good
sense of humor.

She is survived by sons, Clarence “Bruce”, of Thief River Falls, Minn., James
(Julie), of White Earth; daughters, Mary (Richard) Armstrong, of Bagley, Millie
(Kelly) Bunker, of Naytahwaush, Gloria (Myron) Busses, of Bagley, Janice (Dave
Pergl) Antell, of Mahnomen, Lynn Beaulieu, of Bagley; adopted children, Rene
Auginaush, Ron Valiant, Paula Valiant, Shane Burnette, Bud Heisler, Dorothy
Heisler, Kit Grove, Pam Grove, Meredy Littlewolf, Isaac Littlewolf, Rob Nefzger;
brothers, Bert Stevens, of Bagley, Donald Stevens, of White Earth, Ronald
Stevens, of Clearbrook; sisters, Ida Giard, of Mahnomen, Connie LaFriniere, of
Mahnomen, Bonnie LaFriniere, of Mahnomen, Yvonne Stevens, of Bagley; 40
grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Larry, Carol,
Mildred, Alice, Violet; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
