Ruth Ann Carlson, age 68, of Red Lake, Minn. died Friday, September 2, 2010 at
her son’s home in Plymouth, Minn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 29 at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church, Red Lake, Minn. with Fr. Dave Super officiating. The
wake will begin Monday afternoon at the Little Rock Community Center. Interment
will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Red Lake, Minn. Arrangements are
entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, Minn.
Honorary bearers will be Karl Wivinus, Mark Mitchell, Leif Carlson, Matthew
Carlson, Kelly Carlson, Ryan Carlson, John Wylie and Sam Strong.
Casket bearers will be, Raymond Carlson, Max Carlson, Daniel Carlson, Eric
Carlson, Leif Carlson, Edward Strong, Dave Bowman and Kelly Solon.
Ruth Ann Strong was born May 31, 1942 in Red Lake, Minn. and grew up there.
Ruth Ann was a nature loving individual who liked to fish and watch birds. She
loved the art of writing and created many short stories and poems throughout her
years. She truly loved to spend time with her loving family and friends. She
enjoyed dancing at pow wow’s with her friends and granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Kelly Solon) Carlson and Stacey (Karl
Wivinus) Carlson; sons, Eric (Lisa Sutherland) Carlson, Leif (Rita Nevilles)
Carlson; brother, Edward Strong; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Strong; husband, Grant; brother,
James Strong, and daughter Jane.
