Sharon Aileen Fineday-Smith, 46, of Duluth, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, at her
home.

The wake began 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at the Veteran’s Memorial Building,
Cass Lake, and will continue until the funeral service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug.
22, with Spiritual Leader Michael Dahl officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Raymond “B-Ray” Jenkins, Kristopher Roybal,
Michael Burris, Al Kiehne, Robert Roybal Sr. and Raymond Jenkins Sr.
Alternate pallbearers will be Donald Wind and Jimmy Oxford. Interment will be
in the Fineday Family Cemetery in Pennington following the service.

She was born March 9, 1964, to Joseph Jr. and Leona (Whitefeather)
Fineday, in Cass Lake. She spent the first part of her life in Cass River and
graduated with the class of 1982 from Blackduck High School. She worked for
the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Education Department for many years. She
married Francis Augustine Smith on May 29, 2009. When she moved to
Duluth, she was a full time stay-at-home mother, taking care of her children
Temperance and Richard.

She is survived by her husband; children, Marvin Jr.; Temperance; Richard;
brother, Robert Roybal Sr., Redby; sisters, Lorna (Al) Kiehne, Redby;
Cherlene (Ray) Jenkins, Cass Lake; a niece; and numerous aunts, uncles,
and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Burton and Duane
Fineday.
