Sheena Rae Roberts, whose name is Gichikwe, which means Giant Woman, 26,
of Red Lake, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, in Red Lake.

Traditional Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at the Little Rock
Center in Red Lake with Greg Kingbird officiating. A wake will begin at 4 p.m.
today, June 10, at the Little Rock Center and will continue until the time of the
service. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake, under the direction
of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

The pallbearers will be James “Chief” Drouillard, Clarence Drouillard, Brian
Sumner, Robert “Bob” Neadeau Jr., Travis Varney Jr., Darwin Lussier, Dylan
Rossbach, Roger Strong Jr. and Steve Rainey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shannon Rainey, Sunnylee Drouillard, Kerry Ann
Sayers, Leah Cook-Lussier, Rayshayna Roberts, Bear Stately, Adrianne
Neadeau, Janet Neadeau-Drouillard and Rosetta Roberts-Spears.

She was born February 15, 1984, to Maurice “Bubba” Stately and Denise Roberts
in Red Lake. She attended school at Red Lake Elementary, St. Mary’s Mission,
Red Lake High School and Northwest Technical College. She lived in Red Lake all
of her life. She met Travis Varney Sr. on May 21, 2003 and they were planning a
wedding for Aug. 21. She enjoyed spending time with her children and fiancé. She
enjoyed going to football and baseball games. She loved the Minnesota Vikings
and Twins. She loved working with her Elders as a PCA homemaker. She enjoyed
helping raise her sister’s children.

She is survived by her mother, Denise Roberts; fiancé, Travis Varney Sr.; children,
Tre’ Perry Spears, Haydon James Spears, TaMia Jade Varney, Travis James
Varney Jr. and Noreen Varney; siblings, Floyd (Suzee) Iceman and Shalaina Starr
Stately.

She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Brandon Cobenais and sister,
Shantelle Marie Roberts.
