She was born Sept. 30, 1941, to Stanley and Hazel (Hill) Goodwin in White

woman, she met and married Gerald “Skeeter” Fultz. The couple lived on the
Iron Range in northern Minnesota and they had four children together. Skeeter
died in 1970 and she went on to raise their family. She proudly earned her
general education diploma. She earned an LPN degree in nursing from the
Vo-Tech in Detroit Lakes, Minn., in 1984. On August 17, 1972, she was united
in marriage to Dale Danks in Bagley. They made their home in rural Fosston
together until the time of her death. Over the years, she worked as a nurse in
several local hospitals and as a home health nurse on the White Earth Indian
Reservation. She retired from her nursing career in 2007, but continued to be
a caretaker for many family and friends. She had recently been diagnosed
with cancer. Her favorite pastimes included berry picking, baking, shopping
and spending time at their cabin on Long Lost Lake. She also enjoyed puzzle
books and going to garage sales. She played many instruments including the
organ at Rice Lake Area Fellowship Church for many years. From a young
age, Shelby began her lifelong role as a caregiver, even learning sign
language to assist with some of her family. She enjoyed spending time with
her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; son, Tim Fultz; daughter, Sandra Fultz,
all of Fosston; her mother, Hazel of Bagley; six grandchildren; two great-
