Andrea Buckanaga, 42, of Duluth, died on Monday, March 28, 2011, at the St.
Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, peacefully after a long illness.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 1, at the St. Mary’s Mission Catholic
Church in Red Lake, with the Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating. A wake will begin at 3
p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at the Little Rock Community Center and will continue
until the time of the service. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in
Red Lake under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
She was born on July 29, 1968, to Andrew C. Buckanaga Sr. and Paula Little. She
was raised and educated in Minneapolis. She moved to Duluth in 2000. She
enjoyed going to the casino, doing beadwork and spending time with her children.
She is survived by her significant other, Clifford Skinaway Jr. of Duluth; her father
of Tower, Minn.; her mother of Minneapolis; sons, Isaiah, Timothy, Adam, Noah
and Jeffrey; daughters, Annalicia and Isabelle; brothers, Christopher Buckanaga of
Chisholm, Minn, Bradley Miles of Flandreau, S.D. and Isaac Whitewater of Granite
Falls, Minn.; sisters, Angela Buckanaga of Tower and Valerie Foote of
Minneapolis; one grandchild; many aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Skinaway, Mike Sayers, Christopher
Buckanaga, Albert Stately, Clifford Skinaway Jr. and James Little.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of her friends and extended family.
