Anita Marie Charwood, 46, of Longville, died on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at St.
Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, Minn.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Saint Catherines’s Church in
Squaw Lake. A wake will begin at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at the Squaw Lake
Community Center.
Burial will be at Round Lake Cemetery under the direction of Carroll Funeral Home.
Paulbearers will be Robert Charwood, Kenneth Litzau Jr., Michael Roybal,
Eduardo Roybal, Christopher Marotta, and Verlin Kingbird.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kelly King, Loretta Pacheco, Josephine Roybal,
Vicky Jennings, Jeanine Durant and Joan Kappenman.
She was born on April 26, 1964 in San Pablo, Calif., to Robert Charwood Jr. and
Carolyn King. She attended schools in Richmond, Calif., Minneapolis, Minn., and
Red Lake. She attended the Statsford Globe College of Business in Minn. She
was employed as the secretary to Mayors Donald Fraser and Sharon Sails Belton
of Minneapolis. She was also employed as a paralegal for the Minnesota
Chippewa Tribe Legal Services.
She is survived by her parents; companion Pat McBride, of Longville; four children,
Leann and Renee Charwood, of Minn., and Alex and Jerrod Charwood of
Longville; one grandchild; one brother, Warren Charwood of Minn; a sister, Sharon
(Miguel) Tapio of Minn., and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Louise Charwood,
and Louise King of Red lake.
Arrangements are by Carroll Funeral Home in Deer River and Big Fork, Minn.
