Brenda Mae (Durant) Oberg, Baa Bii Waa Shiik “Morning Star”, passed away
April 16, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loved ones in Cass Lake,
Minnesota.
She was born August 31, 2011 in Cass Lake, MN to Joyce Marie (Garbow) and
David Alfred Durant.
She was previously married to Leslie Francis Oberg and they had two sons, Leslie
David Oberg and Leonard Francis Oberg.
Brenda attended school in Deer River and she attended college in Grand Rapids,
MN. She previously worked for Legal Services in Grand Rapids, MN.
Brenda is survived by her two sons, Leslie (Brittney) Oberg, Leonard (Mandy)
Oberg, two sisters, Annabell (Gordon) Kingbird, Louise Ann Durant, grandchildren,
Leonard Oberg Jr., Damion Oberg, and Madalynn Oberg, 5 nephews and 8 neices.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Joyce and David Durant,
grandparents, Lillian (Bowstring) Garbow and William Garbow and Agnes and
Paul Durant, sister Marilyn Garbow, brother Melvin Durant Sr., grandson Dominick
David Oberg, and nephew Joseph Ryan Durant.
Wake will be in Inger, Minnesota beginning Monday, April 18, 2011 and funeral
will be Tuesday, April 29, 2011.
Pallbearers: Chad Heiskala, Robert Lowry, Sr., Ray Ross, Paul Schaefer, Jack
Parker, and Archie LaRose.
Honorary Pallbearers: Marilyn Rossman, Krissy Ross, Patty Byers, Marie Lowry,
Vicky Garbow, Sheila Garbow, Jennifer Durant, and Donna Rushman.
