Carol Anna Goose, 45, of Battle Point, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 19,
2011, at her home.
Traditional services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 25, at the Sugar Point
Community Center with Allen Hardy as the Spiritual Leader. A wake will begin at 6
p.m. today, March 23, at the center and run until the time of the service. Burial will
be in Battle Point Cemetery. The Dennis Funeral Home of Walker assisted the
family in making service arrangements
She was born March 17, 1966, in Cass Lake to Samuel and Caroline (Paper)
Goose, Jr. She grew up in the Battle Point area, attending Longville Elementary
and Remer High School. Following her schooling she worked as a Black Jack
Dealer at Northern Lights Casino for 13 years. For the last few years she worked
as a cook for the Elderly Nutrition Program. She was also active in her community,
serving on the Battle Point Pow Wow committee, and the Sugar Point Local
Council. She loved to cook, and will be remembered for her legendary fry bread.
She was an avid softball player, a Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan, and always
had time to shoot a game of pool. She loved to dance and sing, attend pow wows,
and maintain her marathon Yahtzee game with her sister, Eva.
Carol is survived by her sisters, Eva (Steve) Mangum, Loretta Monroe, Iolanthe
(Jerry) Wilson and Mary Lou Reich; brothers, Rick Goose and Terrance (Eva)
White; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews,
and great-grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Samuel K. Goose III,
Patty Monroe and Norma Monroe; two cousins; and great-great nephew.
