year of auto mechanic school in Fargo in the 1980s. He moved to Minneapolis in
1985, where he met Darla “Sue” Beaulieu. They had three children. He completed
two years of carpentry training at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji. His
family made their home in Red Lake and later moved to his mother’s home in

He was a very hard worker and always busy. He always made sure his children
were well taken care of, and he was very proud of his grandsons. He liked to
spend time with his family and grandchildren. He liked to stop and visit his sisters
and spend time with his friends.
He loved to cook and he loved Darla’s frybread. He enjoyed listening to music;
AC/DC was his favorite group. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping and
attending pow-wows. He liked to show off his cool cars. He was a loving, caring,
very intelligent person who was full of life.
He is survived by his sons, Craig (Jeni) Roy Jr. and Jesse (Shyanna) Roy; and his
daughter, Kelsey Roy, all of Red Lake; two grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Roy,
Melba Roy, Shirley Lussier, Diane Roy and Carmen Roy; and numerous nieces,
nephews, uncles and aunts.
