Darrell Gordon Ryan, 56, of Cass Lake, died at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 11,
2011.

A wake service for Darrell will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Veteran’
s Memorial Building in Cass Lake and continue until the 11 a.m. service on
Monday, Jan. 17, also held at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake.
Officiating will be Rev. John S. Rock.

Pallbearers for Darrell will be James Morgan, Derek Howard, Doug Howard, Brian
Northbird, Thomas Huesers, Lawrence Krumrey, Christopher Cross, Jim “Chops”
Ryan and Robert Budreau. Burial will be held in the Prince of Peace Cemetery in
Mission following the service.

He was born to Robert Hurd and Blanche Ryan on May 18, 1954, in Cass Lake.
He attended Remer Northland High School and graduated in 1972. He went to
school for auto mechanics and heavy equipment at the Tribal College in Cass
Lake following graduation. He enjoyed repairing cars,doing body work, spending
time with family and friends, ricing, playing cards and cribbage. He was a true
outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by his father; sisters, Patricia Morgan and Kathleen
Hurd; brothers, Jake Hurd Sr. and Lowel Fisher; a foster brother, Curtis Cross.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Howard of Cass Lake; mother, Bernice Hurd of
Cass Lake; brothers, Robert Budreau, Terrence (Julie) Morris, Louis Fisher,
Robert Hurd Jr. all of Cass Lake, and Samuel Morris of Minneapolis; sisters,
Cindy (Vern) Hurd, Debbie Jones, Rhonda and Shannon White of Cass Lake;
foster sisters, Bonita Cross of Grand Rapids, Minn. and Carol Kloehn of Laporte,
Minn.; aunt; numerous nieces; nephews; and other relatives.

Arrangements are with the Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker. Online
