Edith Marie Hawk, 51, of Bemidji, formerly of Ponemah, Minn., died Friday, Jan.
28, 2011, at her home.

A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 3, at the Ponemah Community
Center with Anna Gibbs, Spiritual Leader. A wake will begin at 2 p.m., Tuesday,
Feb. 1, at the Ponemah Community Center. Burial will be in the Family burial
grounds, Ponemah, Minn. Arrangements are with the Olson-Schwartz Funeral
Home, Bemidji.

Pallbearers will be, Bryan Smith, Sheldon Smith, Alex Nichols, Tyrone Smith, Tony
Quaderer, Verlin “Itto” Kingbird and Alternates Daniel Hawk and Harold Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Janelle and Lori Johnson, Gerald Hawk, Michael
Hawk, Angeline Hawk, Royce Hawk, Margery Hawk and Robert “Shopond”
Kingbird.

She was born March 21, 1959, to Leonard Kingbird and Rose Hawk in Red Lake.
She attended school and chef classes in Red Lake. She lived in Ponemah until
1990. She then lived in Bemidji until the time of her death. She enjoyed cooking,
baking, playing cards and dice, going to casinos, pow wows and spending time
with her family and friends.

She is survived by a sister, Margaret “Maggie” Hawk of Ponemah, Minn.; aunts;
uncles; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margaret and Luella; a brother,
Alvin and a niece, Elaine.
