Hilma RedEagle Cloud, 83, of Ponemah, whose Indian name was
Ozhaawashkobinesiik (Bluebird Woman), died on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011 at her
home in Ponemah, Minn.

Traditional Indian service will be held at 10 a.m. on Fri-day, Jan. 7, at the Ponemah
Community Center. Spiritual Leader Steve Jackson will be officiating. A wake will
begin Wednesday, Jan. 5, at the Ponemah Community Center and will continue
until the time of the funeral at the center. Burial will be in the family burial grounds.
Arrangements are with Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Cloud, Sr., Alvin Johnson, Jr., Wendell Spears, Andrew
Cloud, Brian Johnson and Trevor Johnson with alternates Daniel Raincloud,
Tyrone Cloud and Eldon Cloud.

Honorary pallbearers will be Agnes Hardy, Michelle Brozio, Eliza Johnson, Gary
Nelson, Sr., Roy Nelson, Sr., Beverly Cloud, Larissa Raincloud and all her nieces
and nephews.

She was born Sept. 20, 1927 in Neptune, Minn., to Evelyn and Benjamin
RedEagle. She attended Red Lake Mission School and also in Pipestone. She
was an avid Minnesota sports fan and loved to be with her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Belva (Harold) Cloud; an adopted daughter, Alfreda
Leachman of Minneapolis; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Cloud of Warroad; 19
grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren and a
sister-in-law, Gert RedEagle.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son; a daughter; four
grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.
