Jeremee Jon Kraskey, 32, of Onigum, Minn., died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb.
26, 2011, in Minneapolis.
A traditional funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at Onigum Community
Center. A wake will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at the center and continue
until the time of service. A private burial of his cremated remains will be held at a
later date. The Dennis Funeral Home of Walker assisted the family in making
service arrangements.
He was born June 23, 1978 in Minneapolis. He grew up in Onigum, attending
school in Walker, Cass Lake and at the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School.Following his
schooling, he worked as a blackjack dealer at Northern Lights Casino for several
years. He then moved to the Twin Cities and worked as a CNC machinist prior to
returning north to Onigum, and most recently, Bemidji. He also was employed for a
time at Wells Technology in Bemidji.
He loved to ice fish and was a great cook. He enjoyed playing and watching
baseball, basketball and football. As a youth he was a traditional dancer at
powwows.
He is survived by his grandmother, Lillian Reese; special friend, Jorel Martell;
mother, Crystal (Pat Estey) Goose; children, Taneisha Kraskey, Raymond
Kraskey, Tia Jackson, Vincent and Acacia Ruschmeier, Savannah Red Thunder
and Ambraya Ja’Layne Lord; sisters, Wendy (John) Whitebird, Rina (Bud) Fonder,
Yvette (Vern) Kraskey, Rhonda Reese, Roxanne (Ed) Reese and Ricki Reese;
brothers, James (Ronda) Wilson, Sam (Mardell) Reese; special sisters, Celina
Connors, Cheryl Staples and Hannah Dalton; and numerous nieces, nephews,
cousins and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Reese; and his grandma Minnie
Applebee.
