John Van Dyck, 53, of Cass Lake, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at his home.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, at the Cease Family
Funeral Home in Cass Lake, with Rev. Arlo Feiock officiating. Visitation will be
held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pine
Grove cemetery in Cass Lake. There will be a potluck dinner at the Cass Lake
American Legion following the burial.
Pallbearers will be Henry Frazer, Alan Woods, Tom Reuter, Mike Kilde, Dave
Jones and Darrin Frazer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Nyberg, Arlo Feiock, Linda Croaker, Patrick
Lausche, Christopher Staples, Luann Frazer, Kelli Fisherman and all his musician
friends.
He was born April 1, 1957, to Shirley (Frazer) and Charles Van Dyck in Des
Moines, Iowa. He was a member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe. He grew up
and attended school in Cass Lake. He loved playing his harmonica and listening
to the blues. He enjoyed watching classic movies and all sports.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer, Jaquelyn and Jesse Van Dyck; sister,
Kathleen (Tony) Nyberg; brother, Kevin Van Dyck,; two nephews; three great
nephews; and a great niece.
He was preceded in death by his mother; special Uncle George; and brother”
