Marta Ellen Foote, 26, of Bemidji, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at the Mayo
Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
A traditional funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at the Cass
Lake Facility Center in Cass Lake, with Spiritual Leader Lee Staples officiating. A
wake will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the Cass Lake Facility Center. Burial
will be at the Lorin Lee Stone Memorial Cemetery in Federal Dam, Minn., under
the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Cass Lake.
She was born on April 13, 1984, to Adrian Foote and Natalie One Feather. She
moved with her family to Bemidji when she was six years old. She attended
Central Elementary, Bemidji Middle School, and Bemidji High School. She worked
at Bonanza, Wal-Mart, I.B.I., as a cashier at the Palace Casino, and as a Personal
Care Attendant at the Circle of Life in Cass Lake. She was a talented bead
worker, seamstress, a Fancy Shawl dancer and loved going to powwows. She
was a wonderful mom, who helped raise her brothers and sisters, and loved
spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son,Jordan Thunder of Bemidji; mother, Natalie One
Feather of Bemidji; father, Adrian Foote of Minneapolis; siblings, Nicholas
Schommer of Wood Lake, Minn., Nicole Schommer of Wood Lake, Minn., Sandra
Mountain of Bemidji, Arlene Bell of Bemidji, Trevor Bell of Bemidji, and Sheldon
Bell of Cass Lake; maternal grandmother, Pauline (Kurt Aasen) Stone of Bemidji.
She was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandfather.
