Roger Dale Skinaway, beloved husband, wonderful stepfather, uncle, grandpa and
great grandpa, 70, of Minneapolis passed away on February 3, 2011 in St. Paul,
MN.
He was born on March 21, 1940, in Cloquet, MN to Edward and Claire Skinaway.
He was raised by his grandparents, Edward and Lucy Skinaway. Roger served in
the U.S. Army and worked as a sandblaster and a truck driver. He married Rose
Lawrence Parkhurst on April 19, 1980.
He is survived by his wife, stepchildren: Sandra (Archie) King; Colleen (Burt
Lussier) Parkhurst; Greg Parkhurst; and Mary (David) Quincy; brother Bucko
Secola, and three generations of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death
by his parents and grandparents, brothers Edward Skinaway, Jr., Myron Skinaway,
Dave Skinaway, sister Shirley Butler, special nephew Dale Edward Butler
(Diggy).
A wake will be held at the Office of Indian Ministries, 3045 Park Ave. Minneapolis
on Wednesday, February 9, beginning at 5 PM and continuing until funeral
services at 11 AM on February 10: Interment will be at Fort Snelling on February
10, 3:00 PM.
