Ruby Eleanor Loud, 72, of Red Lake, died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Red Lake
PHS Indian Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 7, at the St. Mary’s
Mission Catholic Church in Red Lake, with the Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating. A
wake will begin at 6 p.m. today, March 5, at the Little Rock Community Center in
Red Lake, and continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in the spring at
the St. Mary’s Mission Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake under the direction of the
Cease Family Funeral Home

Pallbearers will be Delcia LeClair, Creatha Eagle, Betty Jones, Colleen Strong,
Connie Stillday, Nicole Stillday and Jackie Mason.

Honorary pallbearers will be Melvina Nevitt, Louella Price, Geri Fasthorse,
Charlene Mason, Pauline Teigland, Theresa Smith and Gina Fox.

She was born March 22, 1937, to Ambrose and Adell (Sumner) Mason in Red
Lake. She was raised and educated in Red Lake, graduating from Red Lake High
School. She moved to Minneapolis and found work there. She attended the
Minneapolis Technical School and received a degree as a chef. She worked as a
chef for the Heart of the Earth School in Minneapolis. She married Robert Curtis
Loud in Red Lake. She moved to Red Lake in 1981. Her husband died in 1985.
She enjoyed bingo, slots, and keno. She also enjoyed doing beadwork, raising a
garden, reading, puzzles, rummage sales and watching game shows and cooking
shows.

She is survived by her sons, Robert (Cynthia) Loud of Red Lake, Roland Loud of
Red Lake, Raynard (Delcia LeClair) Loud of Red Lake, Roger Loud of Red Lake
and Roderick Loud of Red Lake; brother, Richard (“Moochie”) Mason of Chaska,
Minn., sisters, Melvina Nevitt of Bemidji, Louella Price of Pinewood, Geri (Richard)
Fasthorse of Minneapolis and Charlene Mason of Red Lake; and three
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Rodney Loud and
Randall Loud; a granddaughter; brothers, Frederick Mason and Paul Mason; and
sisters, Janice Mason and Wilma Mason.
